METROLINK’S MET MAN MASCOT TAKES TO THE STREETS OF MANCHESTER

Metrolink is delighted to officially unveil Met Man, who took to the streets of Manchester to promote the benefits of the iconic tram system.

Met Man was designed by Bury schoolboy, Daniel Chorjuacki aged 11.  Fighting off stiff competition from 400 entries from pupils across Greater Manchester, Daniel landed the coveted top place with an imaginative entry that caught the eye of the judging panel.

Metrolink launched the competition at MOSI (Museum of Science & Industry) as part of its wider school safety campaign.

Philip Purdy, GMPTE Metrolink Director, said:

The design competition proved very popular with local schools and our new Met Man will form a large part of our primary school and community engagement programme.

“We hope that Met Man will bring an interactive element to our marketing and communications activity as we aim to educate children and parents on the importance of safety along the tram network and also the positive benefits of Metrolink to the environment.
